Addressing Your Feedback

This year, we’re taking steps to improve the athlete experience based on feedback from past participants:

1. Why We’re Moving the Dates Up

This year, we’re moving the event dates earlier in June based on feedback from athletes. In 2024, competitors raised concerns about the flooring at the Jack Shea Arena, where mats were placed over hard plastic atop the ice. To provide a safer and more stable surface, we’ve timed the 2025 event so that the ice will be completely removed, and athletes will compete directly on the solid concrete floor covered with rubber mats. This change will enhance safety and improve performance for all competitors.

2. NEW Affiliate and Vendor Village

We’re excited to announce the first ever Affiliate and Vendor Village at the Olympic Oval for the 2025 event! After hearing feedback from past participants, we’ve made it a priority to bring in vendors, offering a wider variety of fitness gear, supplements, and products for athletes and spectators. This year, expect an enhanced vendor experience showcasing brands from the fitness world.

Additionally, we’re giving gyms and CrossFit affiliates the opportunity to set up tents free of charge, allowing them to showcase their community and support athletes throughout the weekend. The goal is to maintain that backyard throwdown vibe while also growing the presence of vendors and affiliate representation.

3. A Renewed Focus on the Partner Division

In past events, athletes in the partner division felt pushed to the side. We’ve taken this feedback seriously and are making changes to ensure that partner athletes are front and center throughout the competition. Partner division standards will be posted early, giving athletes a clear understanding of the events, and we’re committed to providing equal focus and attention to all divisions, ensuring a well-rounded experience for everyone.

Building on Success

What started as a small competition with 40 athletes has grown into an event welcoming over 220 in-person competitors. The 2025 Adirondack Fitness Challenge promises to be the largest and most exciting yet, drawing athletes from across the country to test their fitness in one of the most beautiful locations in the Northeast.

"We’re always listening to feedback and making improvements year after year," said Nick LaScala, founder and organizer. "We’re thrilled about the new changes and can’t wait to bring everyone together again for an unforgettable weekend of fitness and fun."
